What Can I Give?
 FMS accepts money, stocks, bonds, vehicles, real estate and certain other in-kind donations. All major and in-kind gifts are subject to review and approval by the Board of Trustees. FMS issues receipts for all gifts in accordance with Internal Revenue Service code.

Money - It is easy to give and helps the school immediately. We can accept cash, checks, or credit cards. You may designate where the money will be used. One time gifts and annual pledges may be paid by credit card in monthly payments or on any other payment schedule you choose.
Stocks and bonds (securities) - Some people have owned stocks and/or bonds for many years and may have large imbedded capital gain. By donating the security directly to FMS the donor may realize a deduction for the full market value of the security without a capital gain tax. FMS will work with your financial planner to make sure your gift is handled in a manner that benefits you as well as the School.
Vehicles and Real Estate- Once a gift is accepted by the School titled property may be given to Friends Meeting School by transfer of title. Depending on the type of property and how it fits into the School's mission we may elect to liquidate the property. We will, of course, consider donor intent when the decision is made to liquidate or hold such property.
Other in-kind gifts- The School welcomes and often accepts donations of new and used equipment that is useful for our program. We issue a receipt specifying the item given. We can not assign a cash value to the item.
When Can I Give?
The short answer is anytime! If you are doing year-end tax planning please be aware that it takes some time to transfer titles assets.
