Ways to Support FMS
There are two major campaigns that need your support:
- the Annual Giving Campaign, and
- the Capital Campaign to Embrace the Future.
The Annual Giving Campaign helps cover the gap between the tuition charged and the actual cost of running the school. It is part of the School's annual operating revenue. It supports both our students and our staff. The goal of the Annual Giving Campaign for the 2009-2010 year is $50,000. The campaign ends on June 30, 2010.
The Capital Campaign is helping pay for our beautiful new $3.4 million building. This building has allowed us to begin our high school with our pioneer 9th grade class. It's also given us a gymnasium, performing arts room, and cafeteria. While we got a bank loan for $2.8 million for construction, we need to raise $600,000 in our Capital Campaign. As we begin the year 2010, we have raised nearly $500,000.
The Capital Campaign needs a few large gifts as well as numerous smaller donations. Large gifts can claim naming opportunities. Examples:
$30,000 - classroom
$15,000 - conference room
$12,000 - office
A smaller gift of $300 or $500 can buy a 4 x 8 inch brick or an 8 x 8 inch paver with your name engraved on it or the name of someone you care about. These bricks and pavers are laid out at the entryway to the new building for all to see in perpetuity.
Friends Meeting School is positioning itself to be a school of and for the future. We are already looking forward to plans to complete the second floor. When that is completed we will have full facilities to serve grades PreK through 12.
One can think about the two campaigns as follows: The Annual Giving Campaign helps sustain us - like food. The Capital Campaign helps provide shelter.
Please see the tabs on the left for more information on each fund and how you can make a donation.
