Library

Our FMS library supports our educational mission. We have about 4,000 volumes on the shelves in the library.

Those volumes are most appropriate for our elementary students, although there are titles for middle schoolers and adults. Titles may be checked out by students, their parents, or staff members.

The field of Libary Sciences is changing as fast as the technology field as information becomes digitized. Some people feel libraries are evolving from centers of information to cultural centers. More and more libraries are becoming access points to information, not books.  

At FMS we are continually working to grow our library and technology resources. This growth is planned based upon the identification of how these resources fit into our educational program and mission.

There are exponential increases in the amount of information available and there is a common belief that: "if it's published, it must be true." Never has it been more important for students to learn to discern what is factual and what is important.

At FMS we help our students learn how to effectively research a topic and critically analyze the information they obtain.
