sportsFriends Meeting School nurtures academic and human excellence in mind, body, and spirit. Physical development is a pillar upon which our educational program is based.

FMS continues to grow its physical education, sports, and outdoor education programs. We are a small school and we look for creative ways for our students to participate in activities and compete against others. In addition to the physical education classes that every student takes, soccer, cross country, and basketball have also been offered.

While we encourage students to participate in team sports, we also support them in pursuit of other sporting activities. We encourage students to compete in clubs and associations and can arrange for classwork to be completed away from school, when necessary, to help those needing additional time to participate in club sports during school days.

Additionally, many of our students engage in non-competitive sports such as hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, and surfing and often find ways to integrate those experiences into their schoolwork.
